Started here in 89. Had 500 airplanes and many more hubs and employees. While I was on a trip lately we played a game of where we used to fly to. I think the list is bigger for past cities than it is now. So through a city code into it for the fun of it and any other past info. My first choice is BUR. Great overnight, crews would try to get price is right tickets. Actually had some winners.

Dont forget San Antonio, TX. Great overnight right on the riverwalk. Good food and drink. Ohh the good old days!

I so miss the mainline layovers in YOW(all express now). What a beautiful city with so much do and the Canadian $ was so weak back then. Back in PIT on the DC9 you couldnt avoid YOW. Anyone remember the heated bathroom floors at the hotel?
I also miss the fun layovers in BRU. Kind of a small cheaper Paris.

Guess which airline(s) are dominant in the following vacated former USAirways stations:

ABQ-AUS-BLI-BUR-CCR-DAB-EUG-FAT-GNV-LGB-MFR-MLB-MRY-OAK-ONT-PSC-PSP-PDX-RDM-RNO-SAT-SCK-SJC-SJD- SNA-TUS-YKM

What would WN have been if not for USAir/Airways? They are soon to be the 500 plane gorilla, the King Kong of the Airways!

And I remember many enjoyable BLI RON's dining on fresh Salmon washed down with a tasty Chardonnay. The food at the Cliff House restaurant overlooking scenic Bellingham Bay was superb!

At the time, the runway at BLI was only just 5000' long. Seemed a bit sporty at the time when it was windy and rainy. Used the innovative "Dial-a-Flap" on the Super 80 to achieve optimum performance/payload for takeoffs.

Sad to say, but the list of places that we used to fly is most likely longer than the ones remaining. To be exact, there were "454" Mainline A/C in the fleet in the
1989-90 time period. To reflect on how far Backwards this Airline has gone is Sickening to say the least.....

Oooo my goodness ----please--- not another tread reminding me about how the worst airline CEO in history-- destroyed three good airlines---who couldnt run a coke machine---Uncle Ed ---just flashed into my eye. Here we are today living in Uncle Ed's failures. I remember how big we were alright---in nightmares. Yikes :(

Ever make it down to the Chucknut (sp?) mannor? Clams and oysters and a great view of Mt. Baker. Great Blackberries when they were in season

I can remeber a non-stop flight to LAX because of fog at SEA and a full load of fish in the pits. Ah the memories!

Ahhh, yes! Once upon a time, the entity formerly known as PSA truly was the workhorse airline of the west coast... not afraid to take a chance, but knew when to cut its losses. Remember the L1011 SFO-LAX runs? Purchasing the Queen Mary? Wool miniskirts on stewardesses?

A relative of mine who works for LUV was in a meeting with Herb K and he was asked by an employee what he felt the biggest factor in Southwest's success was? His answer... without hesitation... US Air!

Herb needs to send Uncle Ed some cheese and cookies for these last 16 yrs worth of joy.
