This is how the company handles the so-called work action by West Pilots. They announce a recall of the remaining furloughed pilots.
TO: All Pilots
FROM: Captain Lyle Hogg, Vice President Flight Operations
DATE: August 7, 2013
SUBJECT: PILOT RECALLS
As we complete our pilot staffing plans for 2014, we are pleased to announce that US Airways will soon begin recalling the 66 remaining pilots on furlough from our West system. Many of these pilots are currently flying on our East system and will have the opportunity to return to the PHX domicile at some point in time. Others have been working outside of our Company and will now have the opportunity to return to US Airways in the coming months. Per Section 23 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement, pilots will still have the ability to bypass recall until there are no longer pilots junior to them on the seniority list to pass the recall class date to.
Please forward any questions to the PHX Chief Pilot Office.
