Listen ,Jet Blue has recently ended it's alliance with American Express, as has costco. ... they are DESPERATE for not only a new partner but positive press ...

Right now we're allied with citi, a So so credit provider ...However over at American express there be GOLD! Their clientele has fantastic credit ratings and an all over higher income user base ....Did I mention their international presence is pretty heavy as well..

We NEED to scoop up American Express right now while their desperate. ..

We should either make a forward looking agreement with them now or break our current contract with citi on the branded credit cards ..

These are just my two cents ...

Why would the WalMart airline pursue a contract with American Express? Just sayin'.

Also, there is the little problem that American Express already has (and has had for years) a frequent flyer credit card with Delta.   It's called the Delta Skymiles American Express card.

Amex backed themselves into a corner on this with Costco, and I think it might be safe to say that partnering with them vs. sticking with Citibank would be the dumbest move possible.  Besides the fact that Amex is already heavily partnered with Delta, it's my impression that Amex is probably the least accepted card worldwide after Diners Club.

I keep a green Amex, and have had the Costco card for a while as well.  If they lower the fee on the Costco card with Citi, then I'll trade that in for my Citi AAdvantage card as well.  It's simply not worth the $90 or so that they currently charge.

AA linking up with Amex? Probably wouldn't be worth alienating Citi.

I have found the AE credit card that I have had for the past 10 years with Starwood hotels superior to the Citibank card I have with AA.  I need a credit card to augment my AA miles and for me, the Citbank Master Card fills the bill. do not use the Citibank card for admission to AA's lounges as I have AA's Life Membership to the club.  I've considered giving up the Citibank card and using my UA card to continue to collect airline miles from merchants that do not take my AE card.  Besides the Citibank card that I have provides services abroad where there are no transaction fees from other currencies to the $$.  I know there are other cards that now provide this service, but I am satisfied with the services rendered by Citbank.
