Virgin Air's Richard Branson to Chesley Sullenberger: Come fly for me!

If they are union (don't think so) but there are ways around that. 1. Paid as line pilot, plus X amount of dollars for special 1 day consulting in the office. (kinda like alpo dudes)

2. Had it happen at another airline, had 2 two different types of equipment, one payscale. Company had trouble hiring, so they arbitrarily increased one of the the aircraft payscales by 10.00/hr. Union tried to fight it and get everyone the raise, there was a loophole on size classification, which enabled the company to break out the other airplane, and as long as they paid more than what the min. payscale was, they were ok. The payscales are the min the company must pay. They can pay more, as long as the do it evenly across the board to all affected members..

Seems that someone is willing to pay for experience. Not like this koolaide drinking
company. I think it smells at the top. It smells like lack of leadership and knowledge.
Branson if Sully will not come to you, come buy US.

With Scully's seniority, he probably has it good at US. But working for Virgin would be a treat I think any US pilot would be very interested in doing.

I think this was not meant to be a serious comment by Branson. I don't
think sully's reply was serious either. Sully has free reign on the world
for the rest of his life and can preaty much call the shots on whatever
his concience tells him to go for.

IM(not so)HO Branson is a childish ego maniac. What I would like to
see is for all the labor groups at VX to get off thier butts and organize.

After I get over my initial anger at his arrogance, I do have to give him
credit for his inovation. I wish US would hire some dreamers like Branson.

Be careful what you wish for....

At one time a memo came out at VX to notify pilots that when they went into the bunk for crew rest they would now be "off of the clock."

This imaginative policy died a quick death when VX captains responded that when the new policy went into effect they would be landing at an airport of their convenience to take their off the clock rest period. They were able to convince Sir Richard that they were quite serious and VX nonstops would start stopping a lot.

VX is Virgin America, you are talking about VS (Virgin atlantic)

I knew that he would get all kind of offers (as well as he should) However I did bet hubby that there would be a movie of the week Clint Eastwood??? as Sully....quiet but so strongggggg

I can see this happening

Sean Penn as LGA Ramper 2

Jack Black as LGA Ramper 1

Clint Eastwood as Sully

Ramper1: "Man these Kettles are packing it heavy, I betcha there's some coke in here"

Ramper2: "Damn these handhelds ain't working...how about some coke?"

*Sully does the aircraft walk around*

Ramper1: "Hey Miguel take a look at Mr. Fancy Pants"

Sully: "You talking to me Punk? You talking to me Punk?"

Ramper1: "Man these Kettles are packing it heavy, I betcha there's some coke in here"

Assuming that the producers can obtain the proper legal clearance to use the term "Kettles." It may be copyrighted by the rights holder of the Ma and Pa Kettle franchise.
