700 is 100% correct. A furloughed employee can not bump an active. However any openings that become available a furloughed employee can bid on using their seniority.

As for hiring off the street at US.. Yes in cities like DCA and BOS and PHL.. No one wants to go there.. Low wages and high cost of living. Its simple math.

If the jobs were to appear in CLT or PIT or CLE or CMH or MCO or TPA or someplace people want to live you would see recalled technicians left and right. Its all a matter of perspective.

What the AWA people have to worry about is a swelling of the US ranks and then cut backs.. Out the door go the AWA people when the bumping starts.

Once again its simple math..

A furlughed US mechanic cannot bump an active employee under the current IAM contract, that has never happened and won't happen.

And Etops1 is inflight.

What kind of BONEHEAD comment was that??? What profession are you in?? Don't be a CHICKEN SH*T and answer that question!!

I think the company definately took a step in the right direction with creating the heritage logo. Some may consider it a "circle of death" and that may be so but it represents who we are and where we came from. The heritage logo along with the four throwback livery aircraft were a great idea. Some find something negative to say about everything. At least the new mgmt. is trying to improve the relations between employees that was so damaged over the years. GOOD MOVE ! ! ! !

I like the sticker and I will be sad when all of our pretty planes are painted.... especially our theme planes.

OHIO- B757 with the OHIO state flag which looked like a red target painted on the tail

Battleborn- B757 Nevada state flag... we liked to call it battlebroken

Diamondbacks- B757 baseball theme aircraft old eastern plane

Coast to Coast- B757 that was our newest that was pretty cool pic of NYC to LAX they had the twin towers painted on special after 09/11

AZ Flag- B757 just one flashy plane flying thru the skies

Cardinals- B757 NFL theme plane AZ cardinals. Looked like a big candy cane flying thru the sky. We called her big red. The old internal boarding music was never switched off once in awhile it works and there was cool disco playing... love Big RED!!

i think thats it... oh wait we had one repainted to normal HP colors

PHX SUNS- B757 NBA themed purple base color.... everyone remember Barney?
i could of sworn a skunk had died in that thing because it stunk for years!

Fun planes... hope we can add some more than just the retro!!

This airplane is really special cause kid's ideas and sketches were used to come up with the scheme. This is another small but significant indication of where the heart of our company truly rests.

Well Dude I got news for you.. Your company just had heart surgery!! Plane on the 757's getting the standard crap US paint job and elimination of the AWA way of life.. Bank on it.. There is nothing unique about US Airways.. They are followers, always have been always will be.. Thats why its a loser..

The best US could ever come up with was the Silver Bullet dot com crap!!

Oh and lets never forget the Landor paint schemes from the 80's.. More crap.

your such an idiot.

And they are already coming off. I saw roughly 2/3rds of one of the decals on a 320 out of CLT tonight.

Probably peeled off by a mechanic
**desertgal ducks and runs for cover**

When US got the Star Alliance stickers within a month almost all of them peeled off it was a issue with the vendor who produced them, not US Airways' mechanics.

And more then likely the samething is occuring once again.

No need for you to fire a shot desertgal.

Ah, you are wrong there. They are one of only two airlines who's stock went UP today and a few other days in recent days.

Are you talking about the Heritage Logo or the Star Alliance logo? I havent worked a US plane at the gate since the merger so I dont know if any planes have the Heritage Logo on them, but the Star logo doesnt stick on anything. The HP planes I've worked all week have a complete Heritage Logo sticker still on them intact.

Ah, no I'm not wrong.. Stock means nothing.. Enron was flying high remember. So was WorldCom.. Then they went SPLAT... Just like US stock is going to do.

Just a new coat of paint, same old problems.. Costs are still to high, to many employee's per plane..

Right now US is at 105 employee's per plane, Southwest around 79, JetBlue around 84 and AirTran around 83.. Its math.. Simple math..

For the fleet size US is going to have to unload a min. of 5000 people and the number should be closer to 10,000..
