Do unions spend money on lobbying? If so, how much did IAM, ALPA, etc. spend in the last year or two?

Unioins spend a bunch lobbying. Unfortunately, the IAM probably spends more on booze and 4 star hotel conventions.

The average return of lobbying dollars spent is 30 to 1. For every dollar a company spends on lobbying Congress they get $30 in return. No where in the capitalistic universe does one get this much windfall for money invested. I don't think we need to be worrying about the amount the company spends lobbying. I would be worried about the amount your union spends because clearly no union sees this basic fact of American economics and that your unions are not working for you as effectively as the company is working to ensure its survival in the marketplace.

Unions are not allowed to use dues money for political purposes, it is against the law.

Companies are given great leeway in regard to money for politics, unions are not.

You are comparing apples to oranges.
