Of course, being from America he missed the obvious one. Cathay management just sacked most of the union committee, plus a number of others (the 49'ers), once industrial action started.
Just to add - the advice he gave was very US specific - i.e. that 95-99% of threats or information from or by management were bluffs, with a kernel of truth.
This was wrong advice in a HK environment. Management told the union that the final offer was final, and any industrial action would be punished. Based (partly) on Levitt's advice (and also DALPA consultants) the AOA went for a US style industrial campaign - which didn't work.
