What's interesting is that this actually came up in the 70's. Here's what that stalwart RWNJ Ruth Bader Ginsberg had to say on the issue:

Couldn't tell you; maybe people were sick of the way we as a society were treating them.
 
Maybe the better question is why we aren't collectively agreeing that all Americans have the same right to live heir life as they see fit?

Thanks for providing some historical backdrop.

Privacy expectations make sense for a single use stall. In any public bathroom designed for more than one person, it is not reasonable to assume one will have it to themselves.

If people are that worried, they can always choose to not use a facility.

The LGBT crew is behind all of this. I don't think it was an issue before.
 
Not my point, you said all should be able to live their lives as they see fit. Normalization of pedophiles is already going on in the Eu......at least a case is being laid out. I believe there have been some broad based sympathetic comments regarding sexuality from Mickey O........
 
  TG are a mental disorder in the APA manual that 'were recently cured' .....'social attitudes have changed' were some of the words used.
