Blaming your customers for buying your product at the price point you have set seems rather umm... idiotic. Customers don't set the price. Can you see someone at wal-mart yelling at a customer as they go out the door cuz they bought their twinkies to cheaply?
Their IS pricing power in our current market, what is lacking is the nads to use it.
It IS possible to fill planes at 250-600 a head and make money, however we are so fixated on getting the one 2000.00 fare, that we piss away 10 600.00 fares.
Untill this changes, UA as it is structured will fail.
Simplify the fare structure, bring hi-end fares down, raise leisure fares mildly, and offer a product that is priced to the market, not to what the idiots in pricing THINK the market should be.
Don't blame the customer, it's our own damned fault.
