The US did severely restrict immigration from 1924-1965.

2. A little reading on history of immigration would be helpful.

Contrary to what Obama would have you believe, Immigration is not for the benefit of the immigrant, it's meant to be to the benefit of the country.

Immigrants are supposed to assimilate , not come here and demand they get to do things here like they did where they came from.

When you have immigration run amuck , you will invite the destruction of your culture.
There's no law that says we get to be the USA forever.

You only need to look at the Roman Empire , which was in existence a lot longer than we've been a country. They forgot what made them Roman and it withered away.

I kind of like this place and want it to stay the way it is/was for a while.

The female shooter in Cali should have never been allowed into this country, our vetting is obviously flawed, it's time for a pause and serious fix.

Look, I'm not advocating immigration "running amok" and I agree that some common sense solutions need to be arrived at; I just don't think Jingoism is the way to go. Trump's proving that it is very easy to prey upon people's fears.

I think assimilation in this country is a bit of a misnomer. Whites in this country have a long history of segregating foreigners. Also, people have a tendency to congregate with people who are familiar so it works out well.

Look at all the "Little 'insert country here'" such as little China, little Tokyo, LIttle Italy .... etc.

I think the idea of vetting everyone who enters this country is a pipe dream. I do not know how many people have history, much less history that the US intelligence community would know about. Thousands of people fly into and through the US every day. How do you track everyone?

The issue is these people coming from countries that support radical Islam. Where they left for the most part has no databases or tracking systems as its pretty much blown up, ground into the dirt. If Interpol or any other Intel sources don't have anything, those people are after Intels last listed bad guys....who enjoy the luxury of no known info on them.
