Can anyone supply any info in regards to AA Tower planners? salary, union represented,? Any info would be appreciated. US Tower here..

They fall under Customer Service Agent workgroup, they get that pay plus I think 1.00 more an hour. so probably around 23.00 an hour max. Non Union

If they are management they would not be in the vote.

At US tower positions are ramp which are IAM covered jobs. I think there might be a couple of agents who are CWA in there also.

Are you sure that did not get a CWA vote [/background]

Yes, the tower people at US are both IAM & CWA depending on their duties. There are also a few levels of management positions up there.

If you are management and have the power to hire, fire and issue discipline, you cant vote in a union election.

Thanks for the responses. At US we are all IAM Fleet Service Leads. We do have one CWA PSS on the floor who handles any C/S related issues. We do the rest, ramp control, concourse coord,FIDS,W/B etc.

I thought W/B is done in PIT now at a central location after the ramp inputs the data into decs?

Yes, W/B is done centrally in PIT but we do have "CLP" coordinators in the Towers coordinating between the hub and CLP.

At AA, it used to be a lead agent position, and still is non-management as far as I know.

They're in a different classification from agents now, which meant no more bidding in and out of the tower as it was 20 years ago. I don't think they were in class for the last vote -- who was and wasn't might be detailed on the NMB website.

Similar to US, all are Lead Agent positions but considered a "closed" bid. Jobs in the Towers are posted via the career's page and are all interview positions. No preference is made to seniority, positions are offered to those considered the most qualified. This type of process was agreed to by the IAM and company as a way to decrease the turnover and the ability to get those that want to do this type of work in those positions.
