Don't stop fighting , most guys under age 60 have no idea what union means or care as long as its' not to much trouble. If you have that attitude, you got what you deserve.
I wonder what Airline would be interested in the Maintenance unit ? (AA?) and I know foreign airlines are limited in their ownership of an airline but could a foreign airline own a maintenance unit? Say LH?
I highly doubt it. Virgin America has most of there work being sent to contractors. For the near future they will have an operation similar to JetBlue. Only Line Mtc to start and then maybe a small hangar operation in one or two cities.Virgin America

Virgin has all 'new' a320's with a 36 month warranty.
Contracted.......er everything.

Then it will be maintained by El Salvador (or some equally maintained maint facility).

Virgin America has contracted with Lufthansa Technic for maintenance.
The El Salvador operation, Aeroman, is now part of the Air Canada ACTS MRO. I do think Lufthansa Technik wants a North American commercial base operation to go with the enigine line and BizJet shops they already have here. This who owns what and who really works on the plane stuff is getting very complicated.
