I just found out that this past Sat. night, one of our customer service employees was assaulted by a psgr. in one of the jetways. This agent was bruised. Now, guess what ? He is on suspension pending the outcome of the investigation. It is my understanding that he didn't even attempt to defend himself.
We come to work deal with these psgrs everyday then this is what our company does. It just makes me sick !

Wherever you got your info it is wrong. There was an employee assaulted by a pax in CLT at the gate, not in the jetway. The agent was battered and bruised but was NOT suspended. The pax was arrested by the Charlotte Mecklenburg police, no thanks to the airport police and luckily handled correctly by a fellow CWA agent, and spent the night in jail. The company management at the very highest levels have rallied behind this agent and it's my understanding the CWA and the company attorneys are pressing the District Attorney in this case to throw the book at the pax. I'd be very careful believing the person where you got that info.
If I were you I'd check with the agent and ask them the whole story. The version you got was totally inaccurate and it's quite to the contrary as to the response from the company. Senior executives have contacted the assaulted agent to check on the healing process and to let them know unruly pax such as this dude will not be tolerated at U. Looks like maybe someone in CCY is hearing the complaints from employees with the Mr. Gitomer situation and now this. Let's hope so.

Coach....Tried to pm this to you but it wouldn't send.

Regards

Thanks for setting the record strait on that. I hope that psgr gets everything comming to him. I am glad the union is fighting for him & he is not suspended. The person who told me this said the agent himself had said he was going to be suspended otherwise I would've never posted that.
Maybe the union went to work for him after the fact & keep him from being suspended. Anyway it really sucks to come to work do your job & have to put up with that kind of crap. I hope they throw the book at that psgr.......

PS: The airport police here are idiots for sure.
