Tariffs

They still have a problem- Tails come from one country, wings from another, landing gear from another. And on and on. A tariff is paid on a LOT of the components on that plane. Since Airbus isn't built here, they won't be subject to the costs that the tariffs place on the same components Boeing planes will be. When airlines look to purchase, Airbus will have a significant price advantage.
That bullsh*t is so ridiculously overpriced anyway they can afford to lower the cost.

Maybe not having worked in a maintenance base you are unaware of how much they jack the price up and use government licensing as an excuse.

I have had a mechanic tell me they charge $1500 a foot for a piece of u shaped plastic.... $1500.... for a foot.... of PLASTIC.

F*cking ridiculous.

Nice rant but still....every part in a Boeing jet will have a tariff on it. On Airbuses built in Europe, they won't. That's a big advantage.

Who cares?

Boeing is 40.6% of the market. They are going to get business regardless.
If an airline is looking to buy a Boeing or Airbus and the Boeing is loaded with tariffs - making their planes several billion more....should that airline buy the Boeing to keep Trump happy, or should they buy Airbus and use the savings to give their employees a raise?
