Students now consulting AA

That makes as much sense as requiring potential A&Ps to first serve as flight attendants prior to fixing airplanes.

lotflmao aaaahahahaha. Lets see not only do I repair the important bit of the plane,ie airworthiness items, but also take care of items like "my oven doesn't get hot enough" ;my coffee maker overflows, I heard a funny noise in the tail{been flying for ___ years and never heard it before} the lights flicker . my bags wheels squeak can you fix it etc etc.

We usually ops ck the coffee makers and inspect the ovens on every arrival  So the only thing that a F/A does that mx doesn't already do is smile and hand out food. That was funny though.

ps; no disrespect to the job that F/A,s do ,but please don't belittle the AMT. plus we are off topic just had to respond the quote, you should visit a C check or a D check sometime! or are you a pax?

Giving amateurs the chance to come up with an idea and pitching it to real companies to get their feedback?

Sounds an awful lot like "The Apprentice" and IIRC, one or two of the ideas that the amateurs came up with on the show actually stuck. So don't knock it. Especially when it's free.

And feeding the side note... I think every new hire in management should have the chance to see a MBV in progress, ride a cockpit jumpseat, throw bags in the belly, dump a lav, shadow an agent in central baggage service, spend a half day at Res, another half day at SOC... Until you get to experience what goes on behind the scenes, you really have no respect for what the other folks do.
