Why complain....They could be there ALL DAY LONG watching your every move and harassing you instead. Most of the stations that I have been in run themselves anyway. A Manager is like the Queen Of England....a Figurehead. At one time we had no manager for over 6 months and the station was in the top 5 for OT performance and fewest PAWOBS. Most of them are more concerned about petty things and are clueless as to the needs of the operation. Or you could have one that is only focused on the Kiosk usage stats.
Our manager is out at the gate 5 days out of 7, [ on heavy weeks 7 of 7 ]shoulder to shoulder, pulling tickets, oning tkts and checking the pspt.xbt list ..just making sure the flight leaves 5 mins early. The only manager I have seen do this in over 30 years!
Sounds like you have a good one there. That type of Manager is a rare site. Most of the "New Breed" have not worked down in the trenches for years, if at all.
Some like to point out everthing they observe that YOU did wrong instead of jumping in to help. The typical ones are all Yes Men with no clue of what really needs to be done at all. I once had one that came in one morning during a snow storm when we had 5 fights on the ground that were being deiced. The first thing that came out of his mouth was "Look at all of the deicing fluid that is being tracked in on the clean floor" He had his priorities in order, didn't he? :unsure
