It's possible that the SAS brand may be retained for routes outside of Europe where the news of the brand spilt-ups won't be as likely to spread, but I'm not sure. We'll just have to wait and see. I agree that the name Blue1 is awful and sounds like an LCC even though it's a full-service carrier.
It's also interesting to see the attack strategy by Star on Oneworld over the last few years by adding: Blue1 vs Finnair, Spanair & TAP vs Iberia, and bmi vs British. We'll see if Oneworld follows this up by seeking new members in previous Star strongholds like Asia.
