Just heard that Shuttle America will be shutting down on October 27th, or between then and December. Anyone have any confirmation of this? Who will replace the Pittsburgh flying? Will any carrier take over the BED-TTN route that apparently does so well? Those of you with access to future schedules, have any changes been made for the November Express schedule?

No one? Kinda big news for the Express operation, they have about 20 Saabs operating out of Pittsburgh, without them alot of flights and service will be gone. Is this part of the hub dismantling?

This DOES NOT SURPRIZE me..

With their track record-of sudden cancellations and MTC...

Dispatchers had NO clue of day to day operations..

All the CLEPITCLE svc, Ind svc plus New England svc...

Interesting who will go into that mkt..

Stay tuned and Let The Games Begin!

G1,
You'd better keep that PIT service. That's my main way home on the great commute.I can't get home through CLT, and I avoid PHL at all costs.

Just talked to my friend who works there--- apparently SA management asked the pilots (the only union group on the property) for pay cuts equaling MESA MINUS 5%!!!!!! Thats like, starting pay at McDonalds minus $2. Incredible. The pilots voted it down 80 to 6 (or close to that). I say good for them, theres a limit to the minimum-waging of airline jobs. I want my pilot to be flying on a full stomach and reasonable bank account. I'm not a fan of contract carriers on US property, but this pilot group has my respect for telling a management where the line is. Best of luck to the employees of Shuttle America and we'll see if THEIR management is bluffing.

An Agent in LAN told me they were closing the beginning of November. Any word if this is true and if any other stations such as HGR are also shutting down?

LAN also works Skyway's Flights to MKE... does that mean YX is also leaving LAN?

How Sad...

BUT US has created their own problem there. Flights at 550, 1100 and 1940 don't connect to where people want to go and sadly business went elsewhere. I remember the days DC-9's would fly 4 times a day to PIT. Then the props came with service to PIT, DAY, IND, and FNT.. and they were full up to 7 or 8 flights a day.. after 9/11 they dropped to 2 D38's to PIT then added a Saab at night. Nov 1st there will be nothing!

Didnt the county govt. of fort Wayne kick in some inducements for S5? What happens to that payback?
