Sara Palin ...part-2

It's the same thing with a lot of issues. Military. When McCain was running against Obama military service was good for republicans. When Kerry was running against Bush, militarty service did not matter for republicans. Hell, they even tried to discount Kerry and his service and his purple heart.

Same goes for the Dems as well. Good if my guy does it bad if your guy does. Double edged sword swings both ways. Both sides are hypocritical about it.

Here ya go, Bears. Straight from Politico, a left-leaning website I'm sure you'll find acceptable.

There's four women in the bunch, and you'll notice not one of them is Palin.

If the GOP's platform doesn't change to more reflect the shifting demographics in the US, it won't matter what the candidates' chronological age/ethnicity/gender are...

Those that consider themselves 'traditional" conservatives need to work to get the crazy out of your party. Having the party co-opted by Ayn Rand acolytes & Tea Partiers isn't gonna help your chances come '16...

That said, kudos to Jindal for calling out the party on it's groupthink. Also, I have to give begrudging credit to Christie; he's an A-hole, but he's an honest one.

So if they are not on the list they are jot going to run?

I think its a give that Ryan and Perry are non-starters. Paul has too many kooky ideas like his father so that kills 3 right there. Christie won't play with the right wing nuts so he is probably out unless you figure out a way to get rid of the religious idiots.

Its four years out. Not like anyof this matters.

Who knows, maybe the Republicans will find an Obscure Community Organizer, who served as a Senator for 4 years and missed 3/4 of the votes, while serving and walks on water !

Gosh....the only people I've found who claim that Obama can walk on water are the righties.

"According to washingtonpost.com's U.S. Congress Votes Database, Obama has missed 74 out of 93 roll-call votes (79.6%) since the end of the August congressional recess. McCain has missed 63 out of 93 roll-call votes (67.8%) since the end of the August congressional recess. But for the entire year, McCain has missed 79 more votes than Obama; since January, McCain has missed 212 out of 403 (52.6%) roll-call votes in the 110th Congress, while Obama has missed 133 out of 403 (33.0%) roll-call votes."

Don't let a fact get in the way of a stale talking point.

By the way, did you hear that Obama won the election on his record?

Since you managed to find a two bit actor tuned Gov, a two bit failed business man turned gov and a rich misogynist I have no doubt you can find what ever looser you want to.

I think he was referring to Obama's State senate record. I seem to recall reading the stats on his voting record and it was not what Southwind thinks it is. No surprise there. HE thought the CPUSA was suing the DNC. Research and facts are not his strong suit.

And maybe you will find a woman.

They tried that and ended up with Palin. I think there are capable women in the RNC but they are socially liberal and fiscally conservative. They would appeal to the independents and moderates but the republican base won't go for it. At least not for a generation or two more till the old guard dies off. By that time it may be too late for the RNC.

With any luck an independent party will come to power to help give a semblance of balance to the system but only time will tell.

IMHO, a Powell & Rice ticket would have been a landslide win.
(If they don't have any bones in their closet)... :p
B) xUT

I think Powell could possibly be viable if he can figure out how to explain Iraq. I do not think Rice would be as fortunate. She went in whole hog with Iraq and I do not think she can shake that. She is tied up with Bush. Powell has a history before Bush which would help him.

2 blacks on a Republican ticket?

Where is xUT and what have you done with his mind?
Let him go and return to your planet.

I did not even think of that. That would be funny to see the older gen republicans just stroke out.
