German government lawyers were this week reported to be pouring over Ryanair records as allegations swirled around the airline that it dodged millions of pounds of air traffic control charges by falsifying take-off weight information.
Die Welt newspaper in Germany calculated that the alleged weight deception could add up to £300,000 a year in Germany, or around £42million across Europe if the practice is widespread.
