Just a rumour, but I have heard a second trans-Atlantic crossing will soon be added to AA's schedule from Brussels starting in May. Most likely JFK, but maybe MIA. Anyone hear anything else?
it is in the jfk base manager verna miller's (or something like that) base report on the flt svc website. i think it will be just like our bcn we were to get but then a few months before it started...they canceled it.
I sure hope it will be out of JFK to BRU. I was a 'regular' when this route previously existed. Now I have to fly AA to CDG and take the Thalys train to BRU.
upsilon, are you belgian? i live in adagem, between gent and brugge. i didn't know anyone at jfk lived in belgium. i was there for 2 years and always picked up cdg, when it was open. the only person i knew lived there was french. maybe i can get jfk again (if i'm around long enough). i know there are only about 20 people at jfk who are dutch qualified. i WAS one of them.
BRU is a great layover - the city square is full of music and entertainment nightly. The food is usually outstanding. The bus ride to the hotel does not take long.
No fliboi78, I'm just a dedicated AA pax based in NYC with European business who found BRU to be the best way to get to my German office in Aachen.
For many years I regularly flew the route on TWA, and then AA, until AA dropped JFK-BRU. For various reasons I tried LGA-ORD-BRU and then JFK-LHR-BRU before settling on JFK-CDG. If I have business in AMS or BRU, or in Liege and just on to Aachen, Thalys gets me there fastest with the least hassle; but the connection schedule from CDG eastward is not the best.
Thus I am happy to see AA restart the route (albeit a long time in the future); but I hope AA finds it can generate the traffic to continue it on a regular basis.
On another thread, I said I looked forward to flying with you. As a Flemish 'speaker' I am sure you will on one of my JFK-BRU flights in the future.
