Res Hold Time

I called res tonight because I needed to speak to a real live human being (I know, I know.....that's a lot to ask). The oh-so-pleasant recorded voice told me my hold time would be 39 minutes! That's outrageous. Has this company completely gotten rid of res? Again, they keep finding new ways to tick off passengers and drive them away to other carriers.

There is a major hurricane getting ready to hit FL. I'm quiet sure the place is nuts tonight.

Good luck to all in FL tonight and tomorrow.

Most flights for Florida tomorrow are cancelled due to Hurricane Jeanne. That has caused high call volume for the day. Hopefully it will be a short lived hurricane.

I went through this when Frances was going on. My suggestion; if you have another phone line use it to call rez again and don't hang up on the first call. I was on hold two plus hours on the first call. I used my second phone and got through in 10 minutes. Apparently, the first call went through a worm hole or some other anomoly of the phone tree computer age. Give it a try. Good luck!

Okay, I'll assume it was hurricane-related. And for the record for all you good res folks out there....this post is NOT intended as any sort of criticism of you. I totally realize you're understaffed and overworked. My beef is with the company for running the operation on a shoestring.

It has been like that for a month at least now, with all the hurricanes, and when you do get through to us we are too exhausted. I dont know a good option to push, they are all slammed.

But, thanks, nothing personal taken.

Some people just don't realize just what a hurricane can do to flight operations. Much less 4 in less than a month. Out my way--hp--we had lots of calls on hold and one dummie started yelling at me because he was on hold for 20 minutes. I explained to him we were dealing with the hurricane in fla. He called me a b---- and said i was stupid there was no hurricane in arizona. I kindley explained to him we dooooo fly to fla and we were trying to help those stranded there and on the west coast---wanted my name, agent sign and wanted to wait 20 more minutes to talk to my sup-----only to ask if he could fly standby the next day. They're out there at every airline. Chin up guys---I feel so sorry for all that you're going through.

Hold time tonight was extensive for all airlines. Delta's Platinum Medallion line had a wait of more than an hour.
