Repeal of Love Field restrictions may nip S.A., study shows (BizJournals)

A study conducted recently by Eclat Consulting on behalf of American Airlines shows that some major airlines may pare back flight service to San Antonio International Airport if the federal Wright Amendment is eliminated.

Yet another "you get what you pay for" study by Eclat on behalf of AA. AA opposes repeal of the Wright Amendment so Eclat made sure that it's results met that viewpoint. The same can be said for the SWA-sponsored study by Campbell-Hill. No one's "pure" on this issue!

Still, I tend to believe the people who have the most at stake. Here, to me, is the key point of the entire article:

"Elimination or any sort of modification to the Wright Amendment should not greatly impact the air service that San Antonio enjoys," says Barbara Prossen, assistant to the director of aviation for the San Antonio International Airport.

On the flip side, she says, customers could benefit by having more direct-flight options to their final destinations.
