Heard a story on the radio this morning, seems to be recycled news from October of last year but it seems the Railroads need people, aging workforce means that 30% will retire over the next fivef years. They say they need 15000

Anyone, I would say, under 50 should head for the hills. Get out of this business altogether.
Even for better pay, who wants to reset the clock on pay, seniority and vacation. If you are going to start over, do it in a different industry.
The job of aircraft mechanic is a dead end one.
