I have a few questions about AFW.

How many lines are they currently running?
Are there both 767's and 777's at the base?
Is there 7 day coverage or just mon-fri?

Thanks

Look at the 12m list for transfers to A(nother)F(rickin)W(orld). Bays 2&3 (767) are well managed by Chris Constable while Bay 4(777 til June or July) and bay 6(767) are screwed by Donald Boutwell.
If you are looking for sat/sun home with your family and are able to put up with the never ending nit-picking BS, then you may find a place at AFW. Your seniority will help you, pre 1991, or hinder you, post 2000. If you are a card carrying A&P, the bays will be your retreat till you can bid off to the structures bldg or TAESL. No card, you will be an OSM stuck in a support shop.
Good Luck.

Thanks, I am looking for something besides midnight shift with crappy midweek days off.

Are you saying the 777 line is going away this summer?

For those of us who have served time there we dont call it AFW we call it the rock. I left the rock and love my midnights and crappy days off for happiness and peace. The bonus side is if they piss you off you can stick the beer can where they dont like it. You cant make a statement at the rock like you can at a line station. But good luck anyway may the force be with you

I have spent most of my 19 years on midnights with crappy days off. It gets old. I need just two more years and I am getting the "F" out!!

Why do I get the feeling that w/almost 20 years that you'd be in "good shape" in a line station like JFK or MIA, plus all the W/body's you could handle ???

Especially when you dont get anything extra for it!

NHBB is right you could get off nights in JFK with 19 years but being broke gets old too.

Good luck in AFW, dont forget where you came from and how the money that keeps places like AFW, MCI and TUL open is generated.

I have no desire to work in JFK. I'm broke enough already.
