Luv, unfortunately what some of the others know is that many of the pilots are well educated and may prosper in other fields while some employees(Im NOT saying no one else is well educated) may not be able to find other employment at their current wages. As the saying goes, I dont have a dog in this fight and only want this settled but the pilots have a right to do what they feel is necessary. Due to the unstable nature of this industry all of us should have a plan B. Many pilots I have spoken with have been financially preparing for the worst and all of us should have money put away for a rainy day. If pilots feel managment has money tucked away who could blame them. Too many times management has been able to lower wages with new contracts and than give themselves bonuses for doing it. Some companies have give bonuses to keep their "talent" while implementing cuts to other employees. There is much distrust with managment and they have no one to blame but themselves. Good Luck to all of you.You lost me there 12. "Empowered" by opting for a strike that would end my own career.
Unless I have missed something, a strike does away with my job as well as yours. I am not doing this for a sense of empowerment. I will not simply accept a contract to save the jobs of others. The harsh reality is that is not my responsibility.
