Profits

Is it a general, overall profit or an operating profit? I thought special items -- such as the federal assistance -- were excluded from determiming when to end the 5 percent.

Lavman,
The airlines are still losing money.
Excluding the government assistance
Delta said it lost $237 million
NWA reported a loss of $160 million

AA lost $75 million (Excluding special items, most notably $358 million in government reimbursements for airport-security costs during the Iraq war, AMR lost $357 million).

CO net income of $79 million including a security fee reimbursement of $111 million, and a special charge of $8 million, both net of taxes.

USFlyer,

No such language in any of our agreements regarding gov. assistance. That alone was an unexpected freebie, "wind fall" for the airline and industry.

I don''t think it was that unexpected. The airlines were lobbying for it as far back as February and March.

It as much as a real profit as US''s Q1 2003 profit (the 1.6 billion fresh start profit).

How will Dave and Neal fudge the books to show we took a loss so they don''t have to give us our 5% back?

You watch....they will show these "one time charges" to offset any gains. THEY WANT THAT 5% TO PAY FOR THE RJS. The employee morale is the lowest I have ever seen in all of U''s history under this management (and we were in concessions in other periods of our history) and they are so well aware and they haven''t taken or made 1 initiative to improve morale.

ITRADE,

They lobbied for it in March. When AFA was "at the table" in December, it wasn't even thought of.

I know that for a fact. And, so does all of the Laborleaders. We lived it.

Find one public newspaper that speaks to it in Decembeer or January or February.

By that token, any event is unexpected.

PB, that''s simply because the mental ones DONT CARE!
If you think morale is BAD with the oldie''s you should
take a peak at the new hires!

Oy Vey!

I''m close to 20 yrs and well....we shall not discuss it..

I''m get dismembered.

How do you know "that for a fact? Do you have a seat at the table? Is your alter ego Bob Woodward, pretending to have
a "Deep Throat" connection in the bowels of CCY?

YUP!

What profits.

Any extra cash will go into the pockets of our crack Management team at CCY. To fund their estates in Virginia, golf club memberships, luxury boxes at Redskin games, boats in the Chesapeake Bay, vacation homes at Aruba, St. Marten, private school for their children...etc...We can kiss off the 5% forever. Don''t you hear that sucking sound.

OH WELL, got to go sort my coupons from the Sunday paper, SuperFresh doubles up to $1.00. Then, I''ll go shopping at the Dollar Store or the Dollar General, or Ollies Discount Store. Hope my used car lasts till I find another job....

Make a profit?? We spent well over $200,000.00 delivering late baggage to customers in BOS alone last month!
