Two retired US Airways pilots are trying to raise enough money to buy back US Airways and "restore it." Motivated by recent salary cuts and pension losses, Melvin Blocker and Jim Hamilton formed a coalition called Resource Advantage Group, based it in Morresville, N.C., created a Web site and began asking people to donate money. If they can raise enough money, Blocker and Hamilton intend to present U.S. Bankruptcy Court with a new management team, financing and a business model borrowed from the old regional carriers Allegheny Airlines and Piedmont Airlines, the predecessors to US Airways.
