Pratt & Whitney Turbine Failures

Speaking of outsourcing, Delta mechanics were in town the other day working in AA hangars on an AA ex-TWA 757 engine. TWU had no problem with the non-union workers working on our plane.

The engine in question needed a gearbox change. DAL is contacted to do heavy mx on PW(crap and whitney) engines. The engine in question is fresh from overhaul and was still under warranty. Who did did you expect to do the work? Were TAESL boys to show up with a PW2000 gearbox in their back pocket?

<_< ----- Another case of aa management ignorance! So we're still aa's red headed step children! Send those damn engines home to us to work on! Damn! aa loves to through money away! They'd rather pay someone else to work on our old metal, than acknowledge that we're still here!!!! So aa might have to rob engines off MD80's out in the desert? TWA bails them out again!!!!

Sure, makes sense, given that these engines will be HISTORY in a year or so....

Wait, the twu has sent numerous amount of junk mail to my house claiming that AA doesn't outsource anything. Now you're saying dozens of 757 P&W engines are outsourced, how can that be? A gearbox change isn't that big of a job; send us the gearbox, and send the non-union Delta boys the bill.
