Positive Take On Us Airways

LFCCC = Low fare, contractually constrained carrier.
Who sez the elite have no sense of humor?

"Let them eat cake" was a knee-slapper in its day!

If I may,

PPBP Air - Piss Poor Business Plan Air
TMMBA Air - Too Many MBA's Air
LOE,SOCS Air - Long on Education, Short on Common Sense Air
PTMDL Air - Probably too Many Damn Lawyers Air

And I'll close with,

TLI Air - Too Little Integrity Air

Diogenes,

ROTFL!!!! You nailed it!!!

I know we should all be feeling sorry for Siegel and his merry band of bunglers since they are so so constrained by contracts they ignore right and left. It's so hard being a CEO of a major corporation under that red socialist, George W. Bush and all of his anti-business buddies. All you have access to is force majeure, a Railway Labor Act that hamstrings labor by practically prohibiting work actions. Poor guy, all constrained by unions and pesky things like the 14 amendment. It's hard running a business under a system of rule of law! If only we could have complete anarchy for the rich! Perhaps someone should take up a collection (oops, I think we already did!)

BTW, what was the ultimate punchline to "let them eat cake"??

In solidarity,
Airlineorphan

P.S. Why not go with a classic: BOHICA!

Gee, I didn't know that was the name of an airline.

How imaginative. Try your jokes on a cactus plant before entertaining us.

It's nice to see we have people on here who are so nice to their fellow posters, so provocative, glad I am not like that.

I believe that nothing less then a complete and total shift in the corporate culture is required to save US Airways.

From the boardroom to the ramp, attitudes must change! TODAY!

.
I couldn't agree more, but it does start at the top or it doesn't start at all.

We have certain union leaders screaming this very theme to them already.

But are they listening or pacifying?

'orphan, I hope I live to see it!

Itrade, I'm pretty sure we're on opposite ends of the political spectrum, but I'm ok with that - it's a free country (don't tell Ashcroft!). And I give you credit for being a big boy, able to give and take. I offered my little bon mot in the same spirit as you offered yours - no offense intended.

Besides, the market is booming, and laissez faire is ascendant - life is good, yes?
