Pit Selected As Hub For New, Low-fare Airline

When you make decisions like reducing your presence at a particular location, you have to consider the opportunities you create for other people whose view of the situation may be different. As an example, the continued milking of travelers in upstate NY with higher than average fares was what gave JetBlue the instant traction which launched them.

Mmmmm?

Does this mean it's time to flee from Pittsburgh?

Sounds like an ideal rationalization for our company.

Then agian, $49 fares and free bear?

Out of an airport that charges the airline ten dollors a passenger?

It would seem to me that this "nameless" airline which they are calling Project
Roam is the exact reason why Uncle Dave changed is tone with Pittsburgh. According to the news at noon, they will start with 9 major destinations while we will have 9 Erie, Altoona runs (kidding on that Erie part).
If all goes well US will lose many employees to this airline and they will continue to grow reguardless of what US does with Pit.
I find it amazing that others DO see the potential at Pit.
Sorry to see what would happen to the employees of Pit, but I think it may be too late for US in Pit just like BWI.
Looks as if Roddey and the ACAA called Siegels bluff.

Poor Dave...all those degrees and not a clue

A start up carrier right here in the burgh!
Probably a close knit organization where everyone knows each other and
works together to make a go of it.....sounds like the good old days.

Maybe some decent jobs for our furloughed employees....heck it even
sounds like fun to an oldtimer like me.

Need to research and post where to send job applications.

What goes around comes around.

Hey guys, the man behind this is Ed Beauvais. The same man that thought 747-200's to Nagoya Japan from Phoenix was a great idea. The same man that started Western Pacific, rapidly built it up, expanded it like crazy, moved the hub and ran it into the ground, all in 3 years.

Run like hell from this guy, when last heard, he was pledging to start an airline in upstate NY as a feeder for a big shopping mall.

Ed Beauvais has rapidly become the Ed Wood of the airline biz. Lots of fancy dreams and all kinds of promises, but in the end, just another low budget dissapointment.

He provides comic relief, perhaps PIT could get "Jet Train" to start up again?

Edward Beauvais is the biggest LOSER.

If he's able to get funding - then anyone can start an airline. Even George W. Bush. He should be looking for a job in about 12 months

People outside of AWA have no idea about this grifter. At HP, he had his sister in law over HR, one son over Vacations, another one in planning, a brother in law in facilities, another son as a ramper (didn't get fired when he ran over a fuel line), and two daughters as flight attendants. Not one of his family members was worth a damn, in fact they mismanaged everything they got their hands on, and made Beauvais a dirty word.

He did the same thing evidently at West Pac, grifting money into the hands of the family, while doing a lousy job of running an airline.

No one in PIT needs an airline job this bad.

Hey guys and gals....Give the project a chance!!!!! Its not like good ol' Dave & Co has been honest with the employee's and the community!!! Now for the big decision when I get furloughed do I go with MDA where I know I am going to get screwed...or take a chance with a start-up? I think its great someone is finally saying "NO" and calling this band of "Crooks and Liar's" bluff!!!!!
