Hehehe.

Many years ago, I made an emergency landing at a small German Air Force Base. All were taken to the Chiefs Club ( about the same number of people). A bus was promised to take everyone downtown. Hours later, the bus showed up just as the Chiefs Club sold its last bottle of beer.

Glad to hear all worked out fine.

kudos to the crew for a successful landing but i must add that russia is quite a bit far fro a dash 8 to make without refueling stops-- say about may be 20 or more or less!!!!!

Perhaps they got Stoli instead of Finlandia for their tonics and limes?

You know there's some grandmother somewhere in the hospital
because she looked on the 'net or called the 800# for flight status and heard that her 8 year old grandson that was travelling alone had to make an emergency landing and got sent to Russia

Presumably the phone system transfers you to an agent in these types of situations. Now if the agent said he's in Russia, then grandma would be in serious trouble.
