New international terminal
at Philadelphia airport
to open May 2
Philadelphia International Airport will open its new $550 million international terminal on May 2, officials said.
The terminal, to be used primarily by US Airways, is expected to relieve congestion in the existing international terminal. The 785,000-square-foot addition will have 13 gates and large public areas for ticketing, baggage claim, concessions and security screening services.
The existing international terminal will continue to service Air France, Air Jamaica, British Airways and Lufthansa Airlines, as well as chartered aircraft.
Philadelphia International held a reception Thursday to publicize the opening of the terminal.
