Only in PDX would the airport carpet have it's own Instagram account. But it is iconic, and now it's being replaced...

Sad day! I am going to miss that unique carpet.
 
I like carpeted airports. A lot more comfortable/warm and a lot less noisy/distracting than tile-- I'm looking at you, DFW Term C.

AdAstra, you must have been on that focus committee they consulted when they first started designing airport terminals.  The committee that said, "What I really would like to see is long, endless corridors to schlep my luggage down going to/from the plane.  Oh, and can you carpet the corridors so that it will be very difficult to pull a rollaboard bag that hasn't been invented yet, but will be?"
