More of the same...

The beatings will continue until morale improves.

After morale improves, a new system of torture will be implemeted.

I just saved a fortune on my car insurance!

...which is a good thing, since I've been kept on the bottom of the pile by mainline and ALPA all of these years!

Then there are the haunting voices from the past. "You guys aren't jet qualified. Any jets on the property WILL be flown by mainline!"

All this bullying while every snot-nosed, low-timed, new hire at all the other cariers and more recently US Airways contract carriers, is flying around in new RJ equipment. Lets also not forget our PSA step-brothers who were first to cave in on the J4J joke.

Is it asking too much to give PDT a few new Q-400's, which by the way are real money-makers, to replace some of the 20+ year old equipment we are still flying?

Wo,

I guess it is asking too much--for them to do something which would make perfect sense and distinguish them in the east. The Q400 would be a perfect fit, and it has lower costs and similar performance to the lawn darts and Barbie jets. The QUiet Cabin technology would actually make them quieter than jets on the inside.

The fact that it would make sense is almost a sure fire guarantee it won't happen....

It is a waste of time pleading our case to the group at mainline. Pdt has been shafted time and time again. I bet half the mainline guys dont even know who PDT is. Why would US do anything that makes sense? People blame mesa for the state of the airline...especially express divisions, but the fact remains that the mainline "king of the airways" created the whole mess...scoping PDT out of everything, dangling the carrot for all these years. We are over it. Words, words, words...same old song and dance.

If your ego and self-worth are really so fragile that you require a shiny jet to feel good about yourself -- Continental is hiring. You can apply online.

The continued weakening of scope language has done nothing but eliminate thousands upon thousands of high paying jobs in favor of outsourcing to the lowest bidder.

The US Airways pilots should have been MORE protectionist. Not less.

Furloughed, while most PDT pilots would love to fly a jet, that's not really what the majority of us are after.

We'd just like to have some newer and better props that are more suited for the job than the -100s we have now. Leaving people at the gate because of weight restrictions isn't why we come to work.

Send me 400s over an RJ anytime. Adding those airplanes, dumping the 100s for more 200s, and adding a couple more 300s would do all of Airways some good.

It's like beating a dead horse. Give it a few more years and you'll realize that there is a plan and your input wasn't ever required.

This has been dicussed here before. The Q400 is an outstanding aircraft. It shares a common type rating with the current Dash 8's. Training cost would be almost nothing to put these on the PDT property as only differences traing would be required.

Seat mile cost is so low it is almost unbelievable. They are extremely fast, and make the RJ's look like the inefficient, money burners which they are.

Take a look at the specs: Q400

Old management never had the insight to do anything as proactive as placing something like this on the property. Let's hope the new guy is a little smarter. Time will tell.

The facts are the facts. It would be a good fit for PDT and the US express system as a whole. But then again....you can only lead a horse to water, you cant make him drink it.

It's apparent to all, now. Time has told!
