Mechanics have never done pushbacks at Horizon.
There appears to substantial damage to the Dash 8. Winglet of the Airbus clipped the tail under the elevator causing damage to elevator, rudder and horizontal stab. Tug was still hooked up to the aircraft when the accident took place. A/C will be out of service for awhile.

According to NWA site it says aircraft damage/weather. See if you all hadn't banned KTO he would have still been posting instead of doing pushbacks at PDX ;)

There was a thunderstorm rolling over the airport at the time of the accident. The visibility on the field was very limited with heavy rain and hail. This was probably a contributing factor.

Correction, the Horizon plane was inbound and had driven off the taxiway waiting for parking when it was struck.

story here

Mechanics did perform pushbacks at PDX prior to the strike. However, this was on a taxiway on the other side of the airfield from NW's gates, with the A330 moving on it's own power.
