Northwest 757

Can anyone confirm the reports of a Northwest 757 having a flight interrupt today because the scab mechanics or bag smashers left the oil caps off both engine oil tanks? Supposedly this was also an ETOPS flight. With the frequency of near disaster for Northwest for the last three days,I'm beginning to wonder if Northwest will have a fatal crash during this strike.

Yes its true....and then Elvis who has secretly been working mx in DTW jumped off the picket line and saved the day...and then he said, thank you, thank you very much and broke into a rendition of AMFA Hotel.

What is the chance of two different aircraft having the same problem? If this is true it sounds like more acts of sabotage? Your union scabs might not be scabs after all.

Well KTO, Since you used to work for West Caribbean and Hellios Air, tell us what the odds are? :p

Don't have much time on the 757 but on the 737 with CFM's if you leave the oil cap off there is a check valve installed and the engine will not lose much oil at all.

Well you have two aircraft and four engines. This means you have four oil caps. Are you with me so far. If one mechanic serviced all four engines on both airplanes and accidently left all four oil caps off on the same day at about the same time the odds on that would be a billion to one. If four different mechanics serviced four different engines on two different aircraft and accidently left four oil caps off in one day at about the same time I would give that one about infinite to one. If some union scab(s) that really wasnt a scab(s) serviced the two aircraft with the four engines and purposfully left the four oil caps off on the same day at about the same time. Then there would be a 100% chance that AMFA is going to kill someone before this is over.

Princess, You and I are going to roll around in the sack before this is over.

how long could the 757 fly before losing its other engine? i noted in the article that they had to fly on one engine.

Until it ran out of fuel. Providing there was no other sabotage. Chances are this whole story is a lie.

As the delays and cancellations pile up NWA will be spending more on travel vouchers than they would have paid the mechanics!!!

How much are the scabs really saving them?
