One sore point was the decision earlier this year to go with the old US Airways policy on employee standby travel.
America West had a first-come, first-served policy, meaning whoever got to the airport first had the best chances, regardless of their rank. US Airways has always done it based on seniority.
"That (decision) really uncorked a resentment and a fury," McIlvenna said.

Just curious if anyone has had any major problems since the change in boarding procedures (other than on a full flight to begin with). Havent heard too many on here or seen too many people not make the flights they've been trying for except when they were full of revenue customers. Anyone else have first hand knowledge of problems since the change?

Just more bawling from the New Kids in the Sandbox.
As a "kid in the sandbox", while all of my coworkers weren't thrilled with the decision, we lived with it. i haven't heard anyone complain (except for the west AFA filing a grievance, but the east AFA did too)

I also haven't seen any negative posts on here about it. If the decision had been made to go to FCFS, there would have probably been a dozen threads with 100+ posts.

In fact, the only negative thing I recall seeing here is those from the east complaining it is Year of Hire instead of DAte of hire.

I flew on HP frequenly with FCFS as an SA3P while I worked for EN. Seemed "OK" but I do recall getting on a few flights that others who would have otherwise bumped me, would have.

but more recently, this past weekend, I snatched the last seat on an HP flt that was weight restricted... and by the seat of my pants! I believe we only left a few people at the gate, and I'm not sure of their status. I guess I was just surprised to see an HP A320 weight restricted on a Florida-Phx run!

Just more constuctive critism? The old Guys at the "Wings Suds & Spuds" don't seem to be around anymore. Typical US Aviation non thought.

A dignified answer.

Not really my intention to go back and revisit the entire topic since it was discussed to death, but I do have to say this was a contractual issue that needs/ed to be addressed.
Nothing that another buck or two an hour couldnt take care of I'm sure. ;)

One problem I see every day is SHARES cannot put remarks on the standbys list. Assign out of order is time consuming and multi entry in SHARES.
When you have 9 different employee groups and 9 different airlines you get a lot of different situations. This is not a DOH FCFS problem it is a multi express carriers and who goes in fount of who thing
