No More Mainline To Cle

An AA station can not be outsourced on the ramp unless it falls to an average of 7 mainline jets a day. Examples would be ONT, RNO, OAK. If it falls below an average of 4 flights a day the whole station can be outsourced ie. BUR, CLE....

RDU isn't close, but places like MEM, CMH, DAY could be next to go to Eagle.

ONEFLYER,
I looked in the Beige contract book and couldn't find an exact number. I beleive before the 83 contract it was an ave of 15 operations a day, or 7.5 flights a day. The last previous contract stated once closed 15 flights a day to reopen or 20 flights a day for a new station. The last station opened foe AA ramp was FLL, before that it may have been DSM or OMA (both now closed to AA ramp employees).
Slowly and a little at a time AA is squeezing fleet svc to hub operations only.
I also beleive MEM and DAY are closed to AA rampers, not sure of CMH.

I was stuck in MEM last week during a long ground stop, and spoke to some of the AA ramp agents. The word about CLE had just come down the pike, and they were dicussing what could happen there. They said that they have 3 ramp agents who are somehow covered by a grandfather clause that prevents the switch over to private ramp services or Eagle. He said they are already below the minimum, and the 3 guys are saving them.

Eagle ramp agents are not the first choice for outsourcing. He said AA will use Airport Terminal Services where they are available because they are cheaper. He said look what happened in LIT where he was before.
