No further capacity cuts...

Link didn't work. Said document has expired.

Must have been a momentary glitch for you; I opened the story from the link a little while before you posted and just opened it again. Works fine now.

When I went back again, it worked fine. That is good news. Now, all we have to do is pray they keep their word. As Royal Ambassador pointed out, there is a "read-between-the-lines" out in the statement. (Cynical? Distrustful? Moi? How could you say such a thing? )

Sounds to me like he hedged pretty well. I think it's a safe bet that if oil were to shoot up again, capacity would continue to decrease.

At least TWU and APFA have gotten creative in order to save jobs. The pilots might be the ones taking it to the unemployment line next time.

While it's relatively good news that he said what he said, this could easily change. If the economy does, in fact, get worse before it gets better, I would not be surprised to see some more capacity cuts. Oil is going to go up. It's already creeping up; even with a buildup in inventory.

Just a reminder to you "rookies", from Us OLD FARTS(Myself included),............(Uncle) BOBBY Crandall had visualized FAR more domestic cuts 15-20 Years ago, ....AND we had significantly Less International then AA has now.

(Food for thought)

I agree. And more than that, there is still too much capacity in the market. One of the legacies needs to die, and the others need to resist the urge to ramp up capacity in the wake of its demise.

Considering its financial position, poor product offering and lousy management, United gets my vote.
