To improve passengers' dining experience, United has named Doug Frost, a highly regarded wine expert, James Beard Award nominee, newspaper columnist and author, as its new wine consultant. Frost will help United choose wines for its in-flight beverage program and help educate flight attendants about wine choices for passengers. Frost is a Master Sommelier and Master of Wine. He is one of only three people in the world to have achieved both distinctions.

Are they paying this guy? I would do it gratis. My first recommendation would be Charles Shaw, aka Two Buck Chuck. It would help the budget and who can tell the difference?

 :D  :D   As always a truley funny management team at UAL. Where would all the top dogs be if they didn't have that perfect glass of wine as they jet around the UAL network, begging for a credit line

Its about all you are gonna be able to afford after UAL is done...BTW, can I keep the bottle??? Maybe if I save enough of them I'll have something for retirement

With all that's going on (see the last Northwest forum and read the latest links about the Middle Eastern passengers) and United prefers to spend their money for a WINE STEWARD?

Good God.

United has now elevated stupidity to an art form.

Having a Wine Steward is the determining factor in my choice of airlines. So I guess UA gets all my business now. HA. How many people base their decision on who to fly on whether or not the airline has a wine steward? Not very many I guess. Just my thoughts.......
