IMO....this is somewhat similiar to....' CRITICAL THINKING ' , which we KNOW is MORE prevelant in some of the quardrants of the US, than for others.
For example :
 
1.  Remove the states of California, Oregon and Washington state from the map (of the lower 48) for the moment. 
2.  Now, seperate the Lower 45 in Half (running N to S )
3.  Seperate the lower (45) in Half running W to E.
4. Identify the NW quardrant as  Q-1,.............The NE as........Q-2,......................The  SW  as  Q-3,.............and the SE as .....Q-4.
5. Finally, Identify 2 (only) quardrants which you feel best exemplifies   CRITICAL THINKING.
 
As a betting man, at the very least,....Q-4...Will NOT be in your top-two picks !!

Carson: Fetal tissue allegations 'aren't even true'

Responding to critics that claim retired neurosurgeon Dr. Ben Carson used fetal tissue for research, Carson said Sunday his critics are "desperate" and that "they are looking for things that aren't even true" from over a quarter century ago.
"It is a desperate attempt by some people to change the argument," Carson said on "Fox News Sunday."
The people raising the issue "are looking for things that aren't even true," Carson said, adding that he had never performed an abortion or even touched aborted tissue.
"What I did as a surgeon is take tissue samples and then give them to the pathologist" for comparison with other samples, quite different from the undercover videos of Planned Parenthood doctors dissecting fetal organs for sale that he'd criticized, Carson argued.
A former pediatric neurosurgeon, Carson is listed as one of four co-authors on a 1992 academic paper about brain tumors that compares adult and fetal brain tissue. In the paper, samples were collected from fetuses aborted at nine and 17 weeks gestation. Carson said Sunday he was not involved in that part of the research, and that his contribution to the study came from adults.
"I spent my life studying brain tumors and removing them. My only involvement in this study was supplying tumors that I had removed from my patients," Carson explained on Facebook. "Those tissue samples were compared to other tissue samples under a microscope. Pathologists do this work to gain clues about tumors."
"I am sickened by the attack that I, after having spent my entire life caring for children, had something to do with aborting a child and harvesting organs," wrote Carson. "My medical specialty is the human brain and even I am amazed at what it is capable of doing. Please know these attacks are pathetic attempts to blunt our progress."
"I think that when conception occurs, life occurs," Carson reiterated on "Fox News Sunday." "I do believe in contraception."
While Carson says he tends "to get a lot of questions about race and medicine" he is hoping that his popularity — he is is polling second in a Fox News poll — will prompt more questions "about the economy and foreign policy," he said.

What exception(if any) do you make toward abortion, regarding  Rape/Incest/Health of the Mother ?

I only asked because I HAVE been there...I was there to support a wife who was told that the baby she was carrying would not live, was horribly deformed (anencephaly) and the DOCTOR recommended terminating the pregnancy.  Thank God it was back in 1991 because due to the circumstances of her job, we did not find it out until a time where she could not get on in the state of Kansas today.  But...the GOP want's to ban all abortions, no matter what.  Her physical health was not threatened, but her MENTAL health was.  She was in such a deep depression that I feared that I was not only losing my child, but there was a real risk that I would lose my wife to suicide as well.  And waking up in the morning with that "precious life" inside her to remind her of that didn't help matters any. 
 
The pro lifers all seem to want to lump every abortion as an act of birth control.  I can guarantee you that there were no two people who genuinely WANTED that child more than us.  And true enough....some people abuse abortion as long as it's legal.  That comes with the territory.  Just like some people will legally own a gun and shoot up a movie theatre, school, or restaurant...but even this lefty liberal knows that you can't ban guns altogether because of that.  You can try to limit some things....banning non automatic automatic weapons or demanding stricter background checks...but it's not right to ban them all.  Why is this not true of abortion?  The GOP clowns in their pandering to the "evangelical vote" are taking a "no how, no way, no exception" approach. 
 
For a party that wants less government, they sure aren't willing to let abortion be an issue between the woman and her God....we both feel that our God understands and forgives - if forgiveness is even necessary.  But the GOP apparently knows more than GOD, so we need more laws.
