My father spent over 40 years working in this glass plant as a furnace control operator.
They used to make pop/soda bottles until the bottles went plastic. Now they make bottles for Budweiser and a few other products (Snapple, Arizona Tea).
He went through strike to bring a UNION into this factory and, for a time, acted as a UNION officer handling grievances and negotiations.
How hard was his job? At times he used to come home with his shoes melted and his coat burned.
