Isn't it ironic, that on the internet available transcon flights where lines of thunderstorms are present across the country, the passengers with laptops
are going to have a better picture of the weather than the pilots up front.
I personally love the service. I think it's fantastic.
They don't give non revs a break. Some people have special codes we pass on to each other which are supposed to work for a few weeks that mysteriously stop working after a day or two when too many people are probably signing up with the code!
Last week we had to circle in the center of the country for an hour and a half because of east coast weather. We kept going back and forth between flight aware and the weather sites. On flight aware we just watched the plane going in circles. On the screen it looked like the pilot was trying to write his name with the airplane.
