NEW YORK (Reuters) - Mesa Air Group Inc. (NasdaqNM:MESA - News), in an effort to cut costs, said on Friday its senior management will reduce their salaries by 23 percent and it will ask employees of its bankrupt US Airways Express unit to agree to defer as much as 23 percent of their salaries.

Any deferrals will be repaid upon the carrier's emergence from bankruptcy, said Mesa, adding that any employee who elects to participate will also receive a bonus equal to 20 percent of his deferral.

It is only right for US to seek a 23% reduction in the Mesa contract during BK. If US does not ask the judge for this; then the UNIONS laywers should demand this if the judge rules the workers take a 23% cut!! After all this is the major reason that US is in bk this time. These RJs are the main reason for cost being so high!!!
