I heard from a senior pilot at Com that Mesa has already bought us..how could that be? They want to acquire Independence Air..Can Comair be sold when in bankruptcy?

Nelson,

Other than some media speculation that Comair is on the auction block, I know nothing about the rumor concerning Mesa. But Comair (or any Delta asset) can certainly be sold while in bankruptcy. The only difference from non-bankruptcy asset sales is that the judge has to approve.

I have very solid info that there is a deal but it is basically Mesa either gets Comair after full concessions or DAL converts the BK to Chapter 7 and all of the employees are dumped in an asset only sale aka Midway. . .

Well I'd buy Texaco if they would throw in a Unicorn and the Moon. Intent to buy with extremely lofty and most probably unattainable conditions attached is hardly a "deal". It doesn't even smell of a rational thought.

a friend works at the law firm handling DAL's bankruptcy

Well there you go...got your unicorn today (full concessions)...now just looking for the moon.

Would acquiring Comair finally push Mesa to becoming a major? I didn't feel like searching for the financials right now but I imagine that would bring them close, if not all the way, to becoming a major.
