So everything you know about flying a plane is from watching someone else do it. There's a heck of lot more to flying a plane, especially an airliner, than just manipulating the controls. I'm shocked that with your "aviation" background, since it seems so easy to you, why you are a f/a in the back, and not up in the front doing the work of a trained monkey. In your case, it must not be as easy at is looks.

I am not a Pilot because I DO NOT WANT to be one! I have had the opportunity to go that route and did not want to. I assure if it was what I wanted to do...I would have long ago!
