Mesa and Chautaqua are turning respectable regionals, such as Comair, into bottom-feeder status. They'll work for nothing because they are "kids" still living at home with mom and dad and can afford to make nothing, and so they are forcing everyone to the bottom..it's a race to the bottom..and United wants to get rid of Mesa anyway due to performance or is it Chautaqua? Chautaqua can't even keep their planes full due to weight and balance and are notorious for cancelling flights..they are the reason why we will all end up working for "nothing" but deserve to be paid more. Sure I can leave if I don't like it, but I love my job.

Snore....Snore...sleep...Old news bud...how about skywest 70 seaters for the pilot pay of a 50 seater....Go jet, lets kill Tran States...sh%T Im flying at Mesa and a Mainline USAirways pilot is going to get paid less on the E190 than me on the CRJ 900! How bout these companies with 747 and 727's with rates of 35 and 45 an hour! Dont blame it on Mesa or CHQ. If Mesa didnt sign the contract they have you would of had F8 non unionized flying for less than anyone out there by leaps and bounds.

Comair respectable ? The #1 practitioner of Buy-A-Job ?Those "kids" used mommy and daddy's money so they could buy a pilot costume. You will notice CHQ took no pay cuts, unlike Mesa who bent over for Johnny O.I had full airplanes all this week and didn't bump anybody,so you're pulling that out of your arse, admit it.

Just curious. How much were you paid when you started for Comair and how long did it take you to be paid up to your standards today?

zzzz... This 30 year old home-owning "kid" with my own "kid" momentarily woke up to read this garbage. What's the matter, daddy won't give you his CC number to pay the 10 dollar fee for Flightinfo? I think school started this week. Have fun in Algebra 101.

Added: Doh! Just read the other thread you started. Go get me some coffee, and try to get the count right this time! PS how do you reconcile bitching about low pay with whining about your co-workers showing some brass ones and not bending over for paycuts?

Um, wasn't directed at you. Just commenting on the irony of an FA for another airline jumping on the "Chautauqua pilots are kids" bandwagon, then bitching about his/her own union standing up for its rights. Sorry it went over your head. And since he/she works for Comair he/she would most certainly be doing a count. Cheers.

I realize you where not speaking to me directly. It was just your attitude in general! Most big jet pilots ask nicely for their coffee...they also realize that trained monkies could do the their job!

The attitude was a reaction to the initial post, and meant at least partly tongue-in-cheek. I've found people like Nelson generally have zero idea what's actually involved in the piloting profession and instead like to spout off one-liners they've heard in the crew room as gospel. PS if I'm drinking coffee then it's starbucks or dunkin donuts and I'm buying for the crew since the swill on my "little jet" is generally inedible. Cheers.

Well I do like Dunkin Donuts!!!

....Also My father owns a Cessna 421 and a Turbo Commander. I grew up around airplanes and have ridden in the front many times.

So everything you know about flying a plane is from watching someone else do it. There's a heck of lot more to flying a plane, especially an airliner, than just manipulating the controls. I'm shocked that with your "aviation" background, since it seems so easy to you, why you are a f/a in the back, and not up in the front doing the work of a trained monkey. In your case, it must not be as easy at is looks.
