Mesa/US Airways Express Number One On-Time Airline in Phoenix for 2006

Phoenix February 8, 2007 - Mesa Air Group Inc. (Nasdaq: MESA), announced today that based on monthly data published by the United States Department of Transportation (DOT), Mesa Airlines, operating as US Airways Express, ranked as the number one on- time airline at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport for 2006. Mesa flew 85.6% of all flights on-time and had a controllable completion rate in excess of 99%.
“This is an outstanding result and is a real tribute to the dedication and professionalism of our people here in Phoenix and throughout the country,â€￾ said Mesa Chairman and CEO, Jonathan Ornstein. “Phoenix is the sixth busiest airport in the U.S. and among the top ten busiest airports in the world. Our performance in Phoenix demonstrates Mesa’s commitment to delivering the very highest levels of service possible to our airline partners and passengers.â€￾ Ornstein added.

Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport typically handles approximately 1,500 aircraft movements and 108,000 passengers every day. Mesa, operating as US Airways Express in Phoenix, has more than 200 flights a day and carried more than 3.5 million passengers in 2006.

Ornstein said, “To celebrate this terrific achievement we today held a party and barbeque at the Phoenix Airport to thank all our station people, pilots, flight attendants, mechanics and system control folks who contributed to our success. At the same time we also held pizza party celebrations at all those outstations that have flights in to our Phoenix hub.’

Mesa currently operates 198 aircraft with over 1,200 daily system departures to 170 cities, 46 states, the District of Columbia, Canada, and Mexico. Mesa operates as US Airways Express, Delta Connection, and United Express under contractual agreement with US Airways, Delta Air Lines, and United Airlines, respectively, and independently as Mesa Airlines and go! On June 9, 2006, Mesa launched inter-island Hawaiian service as go! (www.iflygo.com). This new operation links Honolulu to the neighbor island airports of Hilo, Kahului, Kona and Lihue. hey correct me if i'm wrong but doesnt each airline report it's arrival times to the DOT ? What i'm trying to ask is , there's not an independant observer to verify that mesa has actually got the arrival time that they say they have is there?
