"U.S. consumers give higher marks to the Internal Revenue Service than they do to most major U.S. airlines, according to the University of Michigan's latest American Consumer Satisfaction Index.
More specifically, on a scale of 0 to 100, the IRS gets a 65. United Airlines rates a 56 -- not only the lowest score among airlines studied and an 11 percent drop from last year, but also one of the lowest scores of any company measured by the annual index, which rates more than 40 industries.
Consumers are also happier with the IRS than they are with Delta (59), American (60), Northwest or US Airways (both got a 61). Two airlines beat the IRS for satisfaction: Southwest (76) and Continental (69)."
